Comrade Zhao Jie Is Appointed as the President of Fuzhou Technology and Business University
On the morning of January 15th, 2020, our university held a meeting to announce the appointment of its leaders. Mr. Zhao Jianxiong—chairman of our university’s Board of Directors, Ms. Pan Wanhua—director of the Board, as well as the leading group and middle-level cadres of our university attended the meeting. Huang Bin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of FTBU, presided over the meeting.

At the meeting, Chairman Zhao Jianxiong announced the decision on the appointment and removal of the Board of Directors and held an appointment ceremony. Comrades Zhao Jie, Wang Zongchi, and Lin Liqun were appointed as vice presidents of FTBU; and Comrades Zhang Lijun, Chen Qingyi and Wang Rongguo as its assistant presidents.
Chairman Zhao Jianxiong spoke highly of Professor Jing Lin’s great contribution to the development of the university as the former president of Dongfang College of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, and expressed his highest respect and sincere thanks to him. Zhao Jianxiong said that since 2002, under the joint support and guidance of FAFU and Henderson Group, Dongfang College had persisted in educating people for the Party and the country in accordance with a series of regulations and relevant guidelines of the promotion law of private colleges and universities; and the university-running effect and qualification had been significantly improved. In June 2019, Dongfang College successfully passed the transferring-establishing evaluation of Ministry of Education, and at the same time the establishment of Dongfang College of FAFU was abolished. In accordance with the relevant policies and regulations of private full-time undergraduate colleges, the Board of Directors of the university focuses on the continuation of the excellent school-running tradition of “double first-class” Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University and provides important strategic foresight for its own long-term development. It does well in the investigation and demonstration of major decisions, and decides to appoint Comrade Zhao Jie, former deputy secretary of the Party Committee and member of the board of directors of FAFU, to serve as the president of FTBU. The board of directors of FTBU will continue to support the work of its own university and spare no effort to provide guarantee for its development. It was hoped that the teachers, students and staff of the university could continue to give play to the sense of ownership, enhance the sense of mission and responsibility of prospering the university with quality and strengthening the country with education, work together, forge ahead, jointly promote development, and bravely climb the development peak of education.

Professor Jing Lin made a statement, who agreed with the decision of the appointment and removal of the university board. First of all, he sincerely thanked the board for giving him five years of service for FTBU, who was dedicated to his duty, not afraid of hardships, and wholeheartedly contributed his due obligations and mission to the development of the university; secondly, he felt for the sincere treatment and one heart and one mind of all middle-level cadres, teachers and students, and worked together for the better development of FTBU; finally, he believed that under the leadership of the new board of directors and the new leadership, all educational undertakings of FTBU would reach a new level.
President Zhao Jie made a statement.
In his statement, President Zhao Jie pointed out that he had become a member of FTBU since he wore its emblem. He had the same responsibility and mission on his shoulders, and would do his best for FTBU. He said that first, we should follow the law and cultivate morality, that is, we should follow the basic law of education and the law of market economy, firmly and accurately grasp the school-running law of private independent colleges, seek the overall situation, set the direction, and promote development; second, we should do our best to live up to our heavy trust, on the basis of fully doing a good job in the development research and demonstration of FTBU, we should also use our sincerity and efforts to live up to our expectations, and meanwhile to the expectations of the board of directors, teachers and students, parents and the society; third, we should unite and work together, adhere to the leadership of the board of directors, unite the teachers and students, inspire their spirits, pledge to grow with the university, and adhere to the continuous position, do not disconnect, do not wait, as always inherit the fine tradition of FTBU, in order to continue to strive for new achievements.
Comrade Zhao Jie was appointed as President of FTBU.
