School of Marxism was established in September 2019. The school is as an independent secondary teaching organ under the university. Under the leadership of the Party Committee and administration, it is responsible for the teaching and scientific research of ideological and political theory courses throughout the university. It currently has 32 ideological and political teachers, including 16 persons with senior professional titles, accounting for 50%; there are 9 ones with intermediate professional titles, accounting for 28%, and 7 ones with junior professional titles, accounting for 22%. Lin Tao, a senior political engineer and associate professor, serves as its dean.
Since its establishment, School of Marxism has kept in mind the Secretary Xi Jinping’s 24-character mandate of “strong politics, deep emotions, new thinking, broad vision, strict self-discipline, and positive personality”, firmly established the education philosophy “with all staff, for the whole process, and in all aspects”, actively implemented the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating people, and comprehensively strengthened the construction of ideological and political theory courses with the working idea of “improving institutions, strengthening management, cultivating teams, and creating characteristics”. By “‘3×3’ Matrix Education Model”, it actively explores and implements the characteristic teaching of ideological and political practice, giving full play to the main channel role of ideological and political theory courses; and unswervingly implements the spirit of the Notice of Ministry of Education on Printing and Distributing the “Standards for the Construction of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Colleges and Universities (2021 Edition)” (JSK [2021] No. 2) and the Regulations on the Construction of Teachers of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Colleges and Universities in the New Era (MWJ [2020] No. 3). It has successively issued the plans such as Implementation Plan for Deepening the Reform and Innovation of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in the New Era, and FTBU’s “3×3” Matrix Great Ideological and Political Education Model Plan, and firmly aim to cultivate applied talents. Its ideological and political teachers, in the spirit of being highly responsible for students, comprehensively strengthen the construction of ideological and political theory courses, give full play to their main channel role, and strive to cultivate the ideological and political theory quality of college students with the working idea of “improving institutions, strengthening management, cultivating teams, and creating characteristics”, having effectively promoted the improvement of the quality of talent cultivation.
In recent years, School of Marxism has also made full use of local resources to establish a “red” revolutionary traditional education, “ancient” historical and cultural education, and “green” ecological civilization education bases. In combination with “four-history” education, rural revitalization, “Internet+” college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship competition, Yongtai County Ideological and Political Course Construction Alliance Uniting University, Middle School, and Primary School as One, etc., we will achieve the integrated development of “ideological and political+” and “practice+”, activate the ideological and political resources as “a chess game”, and effectively promote the quality of our talent training.
