Brief Introduction to School of Art and Design
   
School of Art and Design closely combines the regional characteristics with the structural transformation of the current social economy and the requirements of the employment market for talents. It is committed to cultivating application-oriented talents with complete personality, generous foundation, innovative spirit and competitive advantages.
 
The school has 12 professors, 40 associate professors, 40 lecturers, 13 doctors and 86 masters. As an advanced grass-roots party organization in colleges and universities across the Provincial Party building “mass entrepreneurship and innovation”, a benchmark school and department, a national model Party branch construction site, through the leadership of the Party building, the school has a collaborative education project of Ministry of Education, a workshop of Association for Science and Technology, a provincial first-class undergraduate major, a provincial service industry characteristic major, a provincial major teaching reform project, a provincial offline first-class undergraduate course, a provincial social practice first-class undergraduate course, a provincial virtual simulation first-class undergraduate course, etc. In the past two years, its teachers have undertaken more than 40 provincial- and ministerial-level subjects and 30 horizontal subjects. More than 200 academic papers, and over 10 monographs or textbooks have been published in publishing houses and professional core journals. Its students have won more than 200 awards in national and provincial professional skill competitions in various disciplines.
 
At present, the school has five majors, including environmental design, product design, advertising, visual communication design, and digital media art. It has an art innovation platform and an “art workshop” teaching practice base, including ceramic workshop, lacquer workshop, sculpture workshop, design workshop, Fujian Taiwan creative woodworking workshop, etc. Through research platforms such as the Design Innovation Research Center, the Joint Research Center for Digital Rural Revitalization, and the Beautiful Rural Research Institute, its teachers are actively mobilized to develop teaching cases, undertake multiple university-local cooperation projects, and constantly improve the theoretical and practical teaching effects through project driven.
