The Removal of Departments and the Establishment of Schools Completely Finished, FZTBU Enters a New Era of Development

To promote its development with higher quality and more characteristics, Fuzhou Technology and Business University held a meeting on the afternoon of July 9th to announce the full completion of the work of removing departments and establishing the schools. President Zhao Jie, Deputy Secretary Huang Bin, Vice Presidents Wang Zongchi and Lin Liqun, Assistant Presidents Zhang Lijun and Chen Qingyi, and all cadres above middle level attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Lin Liqun announced the abolition of the first-level organization of Department of Information Engineering, the establishment of School of Technology, FZTBU, and the appointment of Zhou Zhongmei as dean of School of Technology. Later, Zhou Zhongmei made a speech at the meeting, thanking the university leaders for their trust, which would surely fulfill the mission and help our university develop better, faster and higher.

Based on its original departments, its leaders’ considering the relevance and integration of its programs, the future development layout of its disciplines, the development scale and orientation of its schools, FZTBU integrates teaching resources such as professional teachers, and establishes School of Business, School of Technology, School of Art and Design, School of Humanities and Law, School of Marxism, School of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creation, School of Continuing Education, School of International Education, and Department of Public Basic Education, with about 30 undergraduate programs and nearly 8,000 students, which is an application-oriented undergraduate university with coordinated development of economics, management, engineering, arts, law, and art.

In his concluding speech, Zhao Jie pointed out that the work of removing departments and establishing schools was based on the play of the role of cross integration of our university’s program groups, so as to meet the needs of the social development in the cultivation of applied talents. He hoped that the deans of the secondary schools could do their work well with ease, concentration and heart, and stressed the requirements of “four constructions”: 1) Its organizational construction should adhere to the establishment and improvement of secondary schools in accordance with the requirements of national standards, and the first was the construction of basic teaching organization; 2) the team construction should insist on guiding young teachers to grow up; 3) the professional construction should insist on cultivating characteristic programs and talents on the basis of the existing program construction; 4) the characteristic construction should insist on pursuing excellence and creating characteristics, which endows FZTBU with new connotation and characteristics.
