In order to further carry forward the spirit of model workers and craftsmen, and promote the thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in Xi Jinping’s new era into the campus on June 21, the activity of “Model Workers and Craftsmen on Campus—Excellent Course Tour” was held in the two-way video conference hall of our university library, sponsored by Fujian Federation of Trade Unions, organized by the Working Committee of Fujian Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports Trade Union and the Labor, Economic and Technological Work Department of Fujian Federation of Trade Unions, and organized by Fuzhou Technology and Business University, whose live webcast was synchronized in the province.
Guolixin—director of the Working Committee of the Provincial Education, Culture, Health and Sports Trade Union, Su long—a first-class researcher, Zuo Xiukun—a second-class researcher, Jing Lin--president of FZTBU, Zhang Lijun—assistant president and chairman of FZTBU’s Trade Union, and nearly 200 heads of relevant functional departments and teacher representatives attended the event at the main venue.
In his speech, Jing Lin extended a warm welcome to the leaders, experts and visiting teachers who attended the event, and introduced the school-running situation of our university, especially the school-running achievements and experience characteristics in the aspects of connotation construction and characteristic development. He hoped that the teachers would take this opportunity to align themselves with the model workers and excellent peers, vigorously carry forward the spirit of model workers, adhere to the fundamental task of building morality and cultivating people, deeply promote classroom teaching reform, and strive to be good teachers with “Four Haves” of moral integrity, learning and teaching.

The Teachers’ Tour Group is composed of the winners of the special prize of the previous Fujian young teachers’ teaching competition and the May Day Labor Medal of Fujian Province. Zhaoling—an associate professor of Jimei University, and Chendong—an associate professor of Minjiang University, respectively demonstrated the excellent courses of the science group and the ideological and political group. Their superb teaching skills and demonstrations of explaining things in simple terms and quoting from other sources provided ideas for teaching reform, specific practice, expansion and improvement in colleges and universities. Zheng Shangxian, a doctoral tutor and professor of Chinese Department of Xiamen University, shared his teaching experiences with his vivid language, active examples and rich teaching experience and insights.

In the interactive interview session, experts, tour group teachers and representatives of participating teachers conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on issues such as curriculum ideology and politics, teaching model reform, and so on. The scene was warm.

This activity was deeply welcomed and praised by the majority of teachers, and had achieved a complete success. It provided a good platform for strengthening the teaching research of young teachers in colleges and universities, and played an important role in improving the teaching level of young teachers in colleges and universities and continuously improving the quality of classroom teaching. Our university will take the opportunity of holding this lecture tour to build a solid foundation for teachers’ ethics and style, strengthen classroom teaching reform, promote the construction of high-quality professional and innovative teachers, and help the high-quality development of our university.
