FTBU Students’ Men Basketball Team Wins All Four Games and Advances to the Top 8 Ahead of Schedule
A few days ago, the Undergraduate Basketball Competition (Men Group A and Group C) of the 17th Games of Fujian, hosted by Education Department of Fujian Province and Fujian Provincial Bureau of Sports, was in full swing. Our student men basketball team was in a fierce battle on the court, with its brilliant performance and frequent success. The team members always maintained a tenacious fighting spirit, a strong sense of honor, and a firm belief that they would never give up. They were not afraid of strong players and fought bravely, having overcome all the difficulties in the way and won over Yangen University, Ningde Normal University, Fuzhou Institute of Technology. They have qualified ahead of schedule to advance to the Top 8 with the first overall victory of the group, refreshing their historical achievements.
It is reported that the College Students’ Basketball Match of the Provincial Games is the highest level college students’ basketball match in the province, with high specifications and lots of teams. More than 700 players from 40 universities including Fuzhou University, Huaqiao Chinese University and Fujian Police College participated in the games.
In every high-intensity game, we could see everywhere the scenes of our university’s men basketball team members striving to be the first, filled with the vitality of tenacious struggle and unity cooperation. They sometimes turned around to make jump shots, sometimes made three-point long shots, walked vigorously, moved freely, and played with style at a high level.
The achievement is the high attention and support of our university, which embodies the hard work and sweat of the team members, and the care and dedication of the teachers. Since the establishment of the team under the leadership of the coach, the team members have always trained hard, strengthened their physique, honed their will, displayed a healthy and upward image of the young FTBUers, fully reflected the sports spirit of sports people, and also showed the characteristic teaching achievements of the integration of sports and education in our university. It is a successful case of the deep integration of the first classroom and the second one.
