Donating Books Builds a Dream and We Share Their Fragrance—FZTBU Holds a Book Donation Ceremony for Prof. Lin Gongxiang
On October 7th, our university held a book donation ceremony for Prof. Lin Gongxiang in the Two-way Video Lecture Hall of the Library. President Jing Lin attended the ceremony.
This time, Prof. Lin donated nearly 5,000 books of all kinds to our university library (and some other books are still being sorted out), which are of high research and collection values. Among them, nearly 1,000 copies were signed by various celebrities and authors, including Shen Congwen, Zhang Dainian, Ji Xianlin, Qigong, Li Zehou and other famous authors. The donated items would be displayed in the Private Education Research Institute for preservation and collection, so that Prof. Lin’s research achievements could be fully displayed and inherited.
President Jing expressed his heartfelt thanks to Prof. Lin for his selfless donation, and looked forward to Prof. Lin’s continued support and guidance for the construction of our library resources in the future, as well as suggestions for the development of private education in our university. Later, Jing accepted Lin’s donation on behalf of the university and issued a donation certificate to him.
The building stands tall, the beams and rafters work together, donating books builds dreams, and we bathe in the fragrance of books. Our university would take this donation ceremony as an opportunity to propose that all teachers and students in our university, with the original intention of “sharing books and jointly building a scholarly campus”, donate individual idle books to the library, promote the construction of our campus culture, and achieve the recycling of book resources and maximize the value of books.
Brief Introduction to Prof. Lin Gongxiang
Lin Gongxiang, a famous art critic, painter, writer and poet, graduated from Beijing Normal University in 1983, and was taught by Mr. Qigong. He is now a professor of FZTBU, honorary curator of the library, and president of the Private Education Research Institute. His works on Guanyin Heart Sutra are unique, and Mr. Feng Qiyong said that he “smoothies the mind and nourishes the spirit, extraordinary and refined”. Lin has written 25 books, including Art Fujian—Lin Gongxiang’s Art Interview and Psychology of Scientific and Artistic Creation.
