On May 24^th, the 11th “Mingshi Cup” Fujian Province University Mock Court Debate Competition, hosted by Education Department of Fujian Province, was held at the Qishan Campus of Fujian Normal University. The representative team composed of our law students Zeng Yingying, Yang Rujing, Lian Shiyu, Huang Peilin, Zhang Xingjian, and Lin Yuli (supervised by Yang Wenqian and Zhang Wanning) from Fuzhou Technology and Business University advanced to the semi-finals with the first score in the preliminary defense, and ultimately won the third prize in the competition.
 
It is reported that the “Mingshi Cup” Fujian Province University Mock Court Debate Competition is a classic event for law majors in universities across the province, and an important stage for law students to showcase their debating abilities. This competition lasts for two days and adopts the form of simulated real court trials. Representative teams from 16 universities and colleges in the province, including Huaqiao University, Fuzhou University, Fujian Normal University, Fujian University of Science and Technology, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, competed together, having presented a debate banquet that blends “reason, reason, and law”.
 

The Law major of FZTBU is based on the training positioning of “high-quality applied legal talents”, and constructs a dual wheel drive training model of “theoretical foundation + practical empowerment”. The professional competition is not only a test of our teaching achievements, but also demonstrates our law students’ solid theoretical foundation, their good critical thinking ability, and their professional competence. Our university will continue to cultivate a fertile ground for our legal education, helping more young students to take the legal code as an oar and the court as a boat, and travel steadily and far in the magnificent journey of comprehensively promoting the construction of a socialist rule of our law country.
