FZTBU’s Teacher Publishes a Paper in Top International Journal, Helping to Achieve New Breakthroughs in the Field of Agriculture
Recently, Lin Zechen, a teacher of Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Research Center under School of Technology of Fuzhou Technology and Business University, published crop production simulation related results as the first author in the well-known international classic journal Field Crop Research in the field of agriculture and forestry science (a top SCI journal in the first zone of Chinese Academy of Sciences), which has attracted widespread attention, fully reflecting the interdisciplinary advantages of computer science in agricultural modeling and sustainable planting research by FZTBU’s teachers, promoting the transformation of traditional agriculture towards intelligence and precision, and demonstrating our university’s scientific research strength and exploratory spirit in the integration and innovation of agriculture and information technology.
It is reported that this research focuses on simulating the response mechanisms of crop models to meteorological factors and nitrogen fertilizer application under different climate types in the arid high-altitude areas of Western China, and has important agricultural application value. The research team uses a crop simulation platform to simulate key indicators such as crop growth period, yield, and biomass. Its result shows that the model exhibits good simulation performance in three climate scenarios: dry year, normal year, and humid year, and reveals the sensitivity differences of yield to temperature, precipitation, and nitrogen fertilizer input. Of them, in drought years, special attention should be paid to temperature and humidity regulation; balanced water and fertilizer management is required in normal years; in humid years, the nitrogen fertilizer effect should be fully utilized to increase yield. This provides important technical support for the refined management of crops in arid areas and climate adaptive agriculture.
