On June 18th, the original “Dongfang College of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University” was renamed “Fuzhou Technology and Business University and the unveiling ceremony was held on the new campus of FZTBU at Geling, Yongtai. Without gongs and drums, and without firecrackers and fireworks, FZTBU invited a group of famous calligraphers and painters from Fujian Province to the university to experience the rapid changes and continuous development of its new campus.

Guests present at the unveiling ceremony included Chen Jimou, former secretary of the Party Group of Fujian Federation of Literary and Art Circles and now honorary president of Fujian Academy of Painting; Weng Zhenxin, former chairman of Fujian Association of Fine Arts, dean of School of Fine Arts, FNU and its doctoral supervisor; Zhao Jianxiong, chairman of Fuzhou Institute of Industry and Commerce; Zhao Yanyi, vice chairman of FZTBU; Pan Wanhua, director of the Board of FZTBU; President Zhao Jie,; Huang Bin, vice chairman of the Party Committee of FZTBU; Vice Presidents Wang zongchi and Lin Liqun; cadres of the Party and government of various departments and secondary schools; and all administrative staff attended the unveiling ceremony.

The elegant library, the magnificent gymnasium, swimming pool and basketball gym, the scattered teachers’ and students’ apartments, the simple Vastroam Hotel and the tributary of Dazhang River all left a deep impression on the guests, which was just as Guo Dongjian said that I didn’t expect the campus to be so beautiful.
FZTBU is an undergraduate college founded by a group of people who have deep feelings for education and are not afraid of hard work. It was founded in 2002 on Langqi Island in Fuzhou and settled in the new campus of Geling, Yongtai in 2017. Relying on the faculty and management experience of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, it has cultivated nearly 30,000 graduates for the society. Now it has nearly 30 undergraduate programs and nearly 10,000 students at university, and includes School of Business, School of Technology, School of Art and Design, School of Humanities and Law, School of International Education, School of Continuing Education, School of Marxism, and School of Innovation, Entrepreneur and Creation . In June last year, with the approval of Ministry of Education, Dongfang College of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University was transformed into an independent private ordinary undergraduate university, and officially renamed as Fuzhou Technology and Business University.
Chairman Zhao Jianxiong delivered a speech at the ceremony.
In his speech at the ceremony, Chairman Zhao Jianxiong said that time did not wait for us, and we must base ourselves on Fujian, take a broad view of China and the world, constantly deepen the reform of education and teaching, and strive to make FZTBU a hi-level, application-oriented famous university with its characteristics in Southeast China.

Chen Zhanghan, the representative of the artists, delivered a speech at the ceremony, and said that the profound cultural heritage of our university had been the fruits of the 18-year school-running process, highlighted the school-running characteristics, condensed the school-running concept, and become a garden, paradise and university park for teachers and students to cultivate their morality.
President Zhao Jie presided over the ceremony.
At the ceremony President Zhao Jie pointed out that this was a simple and grand ceremony which was unique, charming and meaningful, that we should continue to pursue excellence, create distinctive characteristics, and bring our university a vivid, flexible and eternal development power, and that today our university would take the unveiling ceremony as a new starting point, advance and then start, develop and then leap forward, and certainly stride on towards an established goal.
